There can’t be many pilots who haven’t wondered what it’s like to fly or own a P51 Mustang, and this month we come at the subject from two very different viewpoints. We speak with collector and pilot Peter Teichman about the joys of being able to fly a genuine restored P51 warbird, and how it compares with other aircraft of the time. Meanwhile, Dave Stephens was so enamoured with the American WW2 icon that he decided to build his own of sorts, turning an intimidating pile of parts for a Titan T51 Mustang kit into a flying aircraft in impressive time – doubly so, since it was his first kitbuild. Also in the show, LOOP’s own man in a white coat – Phil O’Donoghue – dons his boffin’s hat to test and review the SolidFX FX10 e-reader. The latest in developments heading towards a paper-free cockpit. As ever, we round up the highlights of the month’s news to boot – including the build up to the 2010 Red Bull season. Happy viewing!

I assume that the CAP 10 in the FX-10 Digital Reader test didn't take off at the end of the show since I noticed that as it taxied away it still had the pitot tube cover in place! ;-)

Chris – that's 10 out of 10 for observation and I can confirm that it was removed before flight!
