Spring is here, and with it the chance again to ponder and be tempted by a host of new designs and cool developments in the world of aviation – it's the LOOPTV specials from the giant AERO 2010 Show from Friedrichshafen in Germany. As before, there was so much from manufacturers and specialists crammed into the nine cavernous halls that we've had to split the show into multiple parts.
Part one focuses on the big plans Diamond have for the future, as they unveil the certified DA40 NG. Boss Christian Dries talks about the behind-the-scenes work on new designs, including a King Air rival. Elsewhere, Dave Rawlings unleashes his inner petrolhead to show us new engines great and small – including a V12 diesel.
We also talk to the guys behind the revival of the famed French aircraft the Robin DR400, and also bring you the first installment of the list that every manufacturer wants to be on: DC's Top 10 new aircraft of the show.
But there is more coverage from AERO 2010. Click here for part two.
