Is it really October already? Well, the new LOOP Show says it is, so it must be the case that summer is officially long gone – even if it has been clear skies lately! So what's in this edition? First up is our look at the giant Helitech Show, which took place at Duxford and is Europe's biggest helicopter show and exhibition. Dave Calderwood went along wearing his Blades magazine hat to have a look at the new Bell 429, and a mountain more metal and people. His report includes a look at an innovative British-built mobile ATC unit, and a very special Agusta-Wetsland HEMS aircraft. Looking at the lighting-fast world of Red Bull Air Racing, we talk with Nicolas Ivanoff on the eve of the Barcelona season finale, just as he mounts a resurgence in the series looking towards 2010. Meanwhile, our flight test this edition is a look by Nick Heard at Diamond's new DA42 NG – the aircraft which Diamond hope will put all the fallout of the Thielert engine controversy behind them. It's apt that Nick flew it, having completed the very first LOOP flight test four years ago, in a DA42. As always, there's a cracking viewer video ending the show too, which you can see in full on the site, or upload your own too.
